Greetings everyone, the Global Hockey League is for some new GMs to take 2 or possibly 3 of the newly available teams in the league.
A little about the league: we are currently in the offseason, preparing to enter our 4th season. We recently completed the entry draft and restricted free agency (for the most part), and have unrestricted free agency up next. We use made up players and have a fully simmed juinor league from which to draw new players for the entry draft. The core group of GMs in this league have been participating in leagues together for 7+ years now, and the commissioner has run several leagues over that span, though this is the first using STHS. We have a very friendly atmosphere in the league, and are always ready to welcome new GMs into the league. We also currently have a wiki that some of the GMs have been building.
The Montreal Voyageurs and Boston Patriots are the two teams that are definitely available, and the Detroit Express may very well join that list in the near future. Boston had an active GM that had to give up his team due to other commitments. He was focusing on rebuilding, so Boston is generally a young team with it's best days ahead of it. Montreal was a powerhouse veteran team when the league started, but a series of inactive GMs has taken it's toll on the team in the standings. However, the Voyageurs still have a very strong core, and a good, active GM would do wonders. Detroit also has a very strong core and has underperformed significantly due to spotty activity by that GM.
Because we're between seasons, the overall organization of the website is a little bit in disarray. Links to the rerated rosters for season 4, as well as retirements for season 3 are on the board, but the direct link to the rerated rosters for these teams is http://ighl.net/004/PRE/GHL4-TeamRoster.html. Unfortunately, retired players have not yet been subtracted from the roster (at the time of this post), but the list is on the message board under "Announcements".
