I was always under the impression that the simulator didn't do penalty shots because the "penalty shot" stat outputs were always filled with shootout data. Since there actually can be penalty shots in the sim, can we please get separate stat outputs for penalty shots and shootout attempts? Penalty shots should not only be in their own category, but the goals, shots, goals against, and saves that result from them all are supposed to count in the player or goalie's standard stats as well.

I would also like to make an additional suggestion to add shootout totals to the team statistic output files.
