Average players on awful teams scoring like stars

Seriously, why is this happening? Has anyone else seen this in their league? It seems like a really big flaw in the STHS sim.

There's a team in my league that is just awful on paper. It's at the start of a total rebuild without much of any young talent on the roster.

Yet Andrej Nestrasil scored 74 points last year. Brandon Sutter had 82. They were on the 1st line.

This year, the team is even worse on paper. After 8 games, Sutter has 13 points. Drake Caggiula has 11 points.

How? Why? It seems like a flaw of the sim to me that you can put 3rd liners in these offensive positions and they explode offensively. If they were around 50 points it would be easier to understand but these numbers makes no sense.

taking a wild guess and saying it's using engine 2.0

Yes, 2.0.

I understand what it does but this is an extreme case.

not really, in the thousands of test sims I've done through the years, it happens more frequently than not.

Engine 2.0 is pretty random. It's not my prefer engine. :(

I would say it's relates to the Engine 2.0 and the rating.

We used Engine 2.1

Last year best scorer of our worst team were:

Tomas Fleischmann 41pts
Chris Stewart 35 pts

The second worst team:
Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau 52pts
Ryan Ellis 30pts
