Playoff sweeps?

So far in my league, sweeps have been kind of rare, as they should be. There was only:
2 in the 2017-18 NHL Season
2 last season 2016-17 NHL
0 in 2015-16 NHL
2 in 2014-15 NHL
I feel the sim should produce results around the same, somewhere between 0-4 every year.
In 6 seasons, my results have been:
2 sweeps season 1
3 sweeps season 2
4 sweeps season 3
1 sweep season 4
1 sweep season 5
0 sweeps season 6
Very reasonable, with almost too many happening season 3. So far this year, with the new version of the sim (3.1.3) I have had 7 sweeps just through round 2! I could have more with rounds 3&4. Has anybody else experienced this? Is this the new normal?
