Hi! Am I correct to assume, that the Sim is *not* supposed to erase any players during a ratings update? It was my understanding that if a player is not in the ratings file it either ignores the player or moves him to the prospects list (depending of which option was selected). We have about 3000 players in the database, and when I updated ratings for about 1500, it erased the rest. However when I later updated only a handful of players usinga different ratings file, it didn't erase anyone.

You are correct, the SIM is support to send them to the prospect list.

Ok, so there must be a bug? I will try to replicate the error and send you the files so you can look into it.

In the meantime: is there a way of extracting players and their IDs from our backup and import them into the current sim file? The error happened about a month ago. Off-season only, so not many changes happened since, but still this may be easier than going back to the old backup and then re-entering trades and signings that happened.

The erased players where all unsigned or retired players, if that makes it easier.

OK, I think I know what happened. I had accidentally selected "Send Players not updated to prospect list". Those unassigned/retired players couldn't go to any prospect list, since they didn't belong to a team and thus were erased.

This is correct statement also. I should have think about it after your first question.
