How important is goalie experience for a cup run?

I have the chance to add an elite goalie with a 93 EX rating...my current goalie is a slightly less elite goalie who has a 71 EX rating. There is also a clear LD upgrade if I make the swap. Should I pursue this seriously if I want to win it all this season? Is EX really that important?

when my league used to have FHL, teams that won it all had experienced goalies for the most part. Does this trend continue in STHS (it's our league's first year with it so I really can't say)...

I would say yes, any player who has more experience can only help your team.

So if you had a chance to pick up an experienced back-up goaltender i would so go for it.
