I tried to search around but a bit difficult to sort through all the english/french topics.

My salary cap is 56.8 million

Why does a team show Payroll as 56,621,664 and when I click the roster button, it says the team is over the salary cap by $875,247?

Because you payroll can include your coach or farm players. It depend on your payroll option.

I have coaches off and I have farm include in Payroll but doesn't the farm have it's own salary cap?

If I want to use farm salary cap, I have to turn off "Farm include in Payroll?"

I thought payroll is just paying the money and shouldn't affect a salary cap?

You have 2 Payroll, a Pro Payroll and a Farm Payroll.

The salary cap is the sum of Pro Payroll, Farm Payroll (If the option is select), Coach Payroll (If the option is select) and bonus.

Ok, so in the league settings, the "Salary Cap Fixed Value" is not just the pro roster? If I have 2million Farm Salary cap and 56.8 million Pro Roster cap, do I put the value to be 58.8million in "Salary Cap Fixed Value"

I still need to put "Farm Salary Cap" at two million right?

The option "Farm Include in Payroll" if I have checked this, is this what's causing my confusion? I just want to make sure that the farm team is subtracting from the team bank account each game. If I don't need to do this and the farm will still deduct from the team bank account, then I won't check that option.

Farm will always subtract from team bank account. The option "Farm Include in Payroll" is only related if the Farm Payroll is include in Pro Salary Cap.

Perfect, I will just uncheck that include farm in payroll option.

One more question. If a team is over the salary cap, and the simulator is run on command line, is it normal that a pop up box appears about team123 is over the salary cap and I have to click OK? This stops my script from running, because it's waiting for me to come to the computer and click OK.

Does the simulation happen when this or not?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking but I'll explain in detail what I observed.

From what I saw yesterday, I went to my computer after the time the sim should have completed. I saw on the screen STHS was running but also a pop up box saying team123 salary is over the cap by like $300k. It was probably after it loaded the lines (this team was not scheduled to play but the GM uploaded lines anyways). Once I press ok, the simulation continue to run and then rest of my script finish.

I have a script to download the lines files, run the simulator via command line and then upload the output files to my server. So usually I want this to run autonomously. I use windows scheduled task to run my script. We have a pretty harsh Luxury Tax system in place for Salary Cap abusers.

If each time I have to be sure to be around to wait for the Sim to inform me that a team is over the cap, it could be a problem.

The script is scheduled to run even when not logged into windows, so I'm not sure what would happen in this case since there's no logged in session if it wants to display a pop up message!

Next time it happen, I need to know if you current day game were output in the output folder or not.

P.S. If a team is over the salary cap, the simulator won't let you simulate the day.

well after I hit ok, the simulator continued... the team did not play that day but he lines were submitted. Output was generated.

If the simulator won't let you play a game over the salary cap, how does the luxury tax work then? The luxury tax, I did 56.8mil / 82 games equals approx 700k. But if the team cannot go over the salary cap, then they'll never be over the luxury tax limit?

Then it's normal, the simulator won't let you play.

Salary Cap and Luxury Tax are two different option. They are not connected at all. You could have a luxury taxes at 55 millions and salary cap at 65 and it would work.

"Luxury Tax per Game - enter the maximum amount of money a team may spend per game to be under the tax"

Ok so what counts as expenditures per game for the Luxury tax to kick in

pro player salary?
Coach salary?

What else?

Qiuck question.... Starting a league and we're looking to have the Lurury Tax in effect and actually mean something. We are using a Salary Cap of 59.4 mil and are wondering what should we or what would be a good amount to set the Luxury Tax at?

Thanks for the help.
