Looking at the Strength ratings. (Question for SimonT)

After reading though everything. It seems strength only plays a part in getting hit and faceoffs.

Is there more to it that I am missing? Does in come into play with puck battles?

With the new players coming in a lot smaller. How big of a disadvantage is the smaller player with lower Strength?

Two players that check all the boxes. One of them has 65ST and the other has 82ST. How big of a difference would the production be?

Or will a smaller defenseman with 66ST struggle? Its seem the guys that are viable with lower strength do check all the other boxes. They are pulse skaters and puck handlers. People seem to shy away from the smaller low strength defenseman thinking they will lose puck battles.

Yet I cant find anything to prove that is the case.

Thanks for your time.

Hi.

1) A lot of view are robot.
2) Hits and puck battle are the same in the STHS.
3) ST is only 1 rating. A player has 10+ rating. You can't isolate 1 rating to get any conclusion you are looking for.

Using 1.5 here....
If Hits and puck battles are the same.........Does that mean HTT(Hits Taken) are also lost puck battles?

If not, what exactly is it?

Let me rephrase this.

The concept of puck battles doesn't exist in the STHS. If you look at play by play, you'll not see mention of this.

Okay, thanks Simon..... So is HIts Taken a positive stat, or a negative stat?

Does it mean they got hit, and kept the puck?
Does it mean they got hit, and lost the puck?
Does it just mean they got hit?

It just means they got hit. Doesn't mean if keep or lost the puck.
