Non Full Farm problem

When not using the Full Farm option for a team or league wide, STHS give an error of Too Many Players in Farm when roster have 18 players dress and Maximum Players in the Farm Game Roster Limits is set at 18. It's looks like the value for Maximum Players is uses with -1 while the error disappear when set at 19 and having 18 players and 2 goalies dressed.

Steps to reproduce the error :
  • In league options, teams tab, set maximum player for farm to 18
  • Select a team, deactivate Full Farm
  • Make the farm roster with 18 players
  • Roster incomplete message appears
  • Go back in league options, teams tab, set maximum player for farm to 19
  • Select a team, deactivate Full Farm
  • Make the farm roster with 18 players
  • Roster complete message appears
Also, the Web Client is not aware of this and didn't give error when making roster/line change. This create errors when downloaded lines are loaded in the STHS making the Auto Roster and Auto Lines function to be run.

The Full Farm option is not available with the Web Client like it is in the STHS Client so the GM can't bypass this issue if using the Web Client (MAC Users).

Hi Jim.

The behavior in the STHS is 100% normal. If you want to dress 18 players in the farm, you need to force Full Farm Option. Without the Full Farm option, you need 1 spot for the "Unknown Player" so the STHS will always give you an error if you try don't leave a place for him.

For the WebClient, I'll try to look in the futur.

Make senses for teams with less than the required number of players but not when it's goalies that are less than the minimum.

Also, the Full Farm option enforce, too, the minimum of players by position which can be the problem when call up occurs. Team can have the required 18 players but not the minimum 3 LW by example.

The Unknown Player should not be involved if the number of players is equals to the maximum player roster limits AND Forwards Play All Positions is check in the Farm Simulation Tab.

Otherwise it should. Maybe make the Unknown Player visible in the roster Window can help. When is scratch, 18 players can be dressed, if not, it serve as a filler to 18. Ex.: 15 dressed players + Unknown Player = Line Up OK (same logic for goalers)

Hi Jim.

For your information, this behavior has been like this since version 1 in 2006. It's up to commish to decide if a team played Full Farm or not. And of course, if you played and if the FARM option like the minimum LW are applies or not. You don't have to force them to be high at 3 in the farm.

P.S. I'm moving the topic in the question area.
