Goalie Morale

In our league, goalie morale swings way more wildly than skater morale. We start everyone in the league with a 50 MO rating. We're just about halfway through the season and out of 166 goalies in the entire league, only 25 still have a MO rating at 50 or above. 48 goalies have MO ratings under 20.
We're seeing goalies with top 10 ratings turn in terrible seasons because their morale drops are huge and its very difficult to get morale back up. Right now in fact, if I look at the top 10 goalies in the league based on ratings, only 1 has an MO rating above 50.
For example, my starter got pulled in my game today and his morale dropped from 40 to 34. I guarantee it would take multiple weeks of winning hockey to get back up to 40. My farm starter is putting up terrific numbers, probably top 3 in the whole farm league, and his MO is only 55. This is not the first year that this happened, it was a major issue last year as well. With skaters, we aren't seeing the same issues at all. My team is 13th overall in the league, all my skaters have mid-60s MO ratings and my starting goalie has 34 MO. That doesn't add up for me.
Why are skater and goalie MO ratings so completely disconnected from each other and why don't goalies gain morale back at a comparable rate to losing morale?
FYI we are on version 3.3.5.5, running sim engine 1.5 and our morale sliders are set to 10 in both leagues. (They were much higher last year but we dropped them this year to hopefully try and mitigate the damage the above issue is causing, which has worked to a degree but its still a problem).
