Re: Overall formula relating to "League Options"

7% of what, i guess I'm trying to ask... If I'm starting a new league and player pool from scratch, what affect does that option have on OV if they've yet to accumulate stats? Plus, I don't quite understand why these options are included in the changeable OV formula section , when there are separate...

Re: Overall formula relating to "League Options"

I guess I am asking this...what effect does moving the slider up or down in the Overall Formula screen? For instance, here are what we have now for both "Offensive Forward" and "Defensive Forward": Fights Option: 1 Goals Option: 4 Injuries Option: 1 Morales Option: 1 Penalties Op...

Overall formula relating to "League Options"

I saw just a ways down here on the forum a question about OV formula but it didn't address my query... How does the "League Options" (fights, goals, injuries, morale, etc) as laid out in the changeable OV formula affect OV? I looked at the manual and couldn't understand the language used.....

Slider to 100 on Finances = Max Money?

I looked back a few threads and didn't see anything on this. But I do recall in the old STHS, moving the Finances silder up to 100 didn't necessarily mean that you were maximizing the possibility to earn per-game revenue. Revenue actually went down if I recall correctly. Basically we are just about ...

Late-season prospect creation (rerate effect?)

Hey guys (and Simon). I'm contemplating doing a late-season prospect creation batch for my GM's, but I'm wondering if having newly created players playing only 10-20 games will negatively affect their sim-based rerate during the offseason. For instance, let's say I create Ryan Murphy at 60OV (we use...

Re: "MO" drop difference in trades

Right, but this is during our offseason, our first offseason in Skyward Hockey anyway, and all of the players' MO are 50. Team's MO are all 50 too, so why would one player drop to 49 and another to 40 after one deal per player? Not really a biggie - just sort of wondering.

Re: Salary Cap View

Or you could do the work needed. I'm surprised how many commishes there are that try to avoid doing the things that would only cultivate their leagues - or, ask Simon to do the work for them. Guess that makes ours a little more unique then I thought.

"MO" drop difference in trades

I've always wondered what the determining factor was in MO dropping when a player is traded. I wonder - why does it drop less for some players than it does for others? Is it the size of the deal? Do the players have some sort of random determination planted in that bases how much they drop when deal...

Re: NHL Numbers

I second Marc - CapGeek updates usually the same day it happens in the NHL. Used it to help create salaries for all of my players in my league.

Re: Realistic Ratings?

While I agree with your basic approach to the "OV doesn't matter" debate, ynohtna, I do believe that creating players with 50 or below ratings is unrealistic. True, there are specialists in the NHL, whether it is D, PK, PP, etc. But everyone in the league has basic skills enough to "g...

Re: Brand new REALISTIC sim league!!!

I won't subject you all to endless bumps - I'll just keep editing this post. But, we only have 4 teams open with our FULL player dispersal draft (meaning you draft your pro/farm teams and your prospect list - 54 players in all!) around the corner - we start on Thursday night LIVE via web stream at 7...

Re: Realistic Ratings?

I appreciate the comments! Constructive feedback is always key to getting better at this type of thing. Something I haven't discussed in a ton of detail is another factor that I guess you could call a personal touch - Kovalchuk hasn't had a good run, for the most part, with his current team. What I ...

Re: Realistic Ratings?

Well, regardless of the "best player in the league" debate, what I meant by the ratings bias was that I am biased against creating players that would have no use in the sim, or creating players that are either far above or far below their NHL counterpart. I've taken great measures to make ...
