Re: 9 yr established STHS league seeks GM's for expansion

Bump for some CNGHL love. :D Expansion appears to be off for this season unfortunately. We have an immediate opening to fill though: http://www.cnghl.net/CNGHL10-TeamRoster.html#Bombers We're currently in our Free Agent period and we're having our Entry Draft soon so pieces can be added to put your ...

Re: The whole French/English thing...

This is what I use to help me comprehend French posts. Like Icepilot, my limited high school French helps me read and get the basic gist of what is being asked. If I want to understand better, I plunk the page into Google's excellent translator:

Re: Realism issues

I think the point more is that nobody can predict with 100% certainty when a player will have an "off night." Not in real life and most certainly not in a random number generator like a hockey simulator. If you want 100% predictability, buy a PS3, plug in NHL 2008 and set it on "Easy ...

I don't CARE about winning or losing. I want realistic results, and a goalie who puts up .900+ save % one day, followed by 5 goals on 16 shots is NOT realistic.
Have you watched Luongo lately? Apparently STHS is more realistic than you relaize.

I suspected that might be the case. We started our season with 1.0.3 I believe. Thanks!

1.0.5 Game Winning Goals

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before . . . If this isn't a bug, I apologize. One of my GMs pointed this out: GWGs: How can a team have 32 regulation time and overtime wins, but only 24 GWGs on its team scoring page? (I understand SOs don't count). http://www.canuckscentral.com/cnghl/files/...

Re: Realism issues

Different teams in front of each goalie. If you had Brodeur in net for each team and simmed 10 or 20 or 30 games, his SV % would be different each time. I'd bet my only child on it. :) Again, the team in front of the goalie is another variable you have to consider. So many variables can change and y...

Re: Realism issues

What needs to be fixed is the better players need to be the better players. I don't know WHAT caused the problem, as I don't have access to the sim code, and Simon doesn't seem to want to say anything about it. It's not JUST Brodeur. I've noticed this with top goalies in other STHS leagues. You're ...

Re: Realism issues

I've been patient. Simon's said nothing useful about this issue. I've shown proof, and instead of saying anything, it seems like he's just ignoring it. I never came here to bash it. I came here to bring up an issue that I felt needed to be fixed to improve the sim. However the responce I've had is ...

Re: Realism issues

The league doesn't use dynamic ratings throughout the season. But I believe you're missing the point. You're correct that teams are stronger with a smaller league, but if your reason is correct, why are the other goalies not being lit up as consistancy? I have this theory about Sim hockey. This is ...

Re: Realism issues

I think too you have to keep in mind that you only have 12 teams in your league. If the ratings you've used are Dynamic (i.e. they change throughout the course of the season), you best shooters are concentrated into a much smaller group of players Brodeur faces. Your best shooters seem to be scoring...

Re: Realism issues

We have had similar discussions in our league, http://www.canuckscentral.com/cnghl/files/CNGHL9-IndividualLeaders.html Luongo has been described as having an awful season even though the team in front of him (his Defense in particular) are no slouches. We use DVHL's ratings modified with our own SC ...

If only our FHLSim League Stats were in that format. :-)

We have 8 seasons worth of stats in .html pages. We want to convert them to .csv but we don't want to include things like ratings or contracts or things like that if we don't need too.
