CMHL Looking for a few good GMs

Post by Gergish »

We're currently looking for a few good GMs right now. This is a long-lasting league, been around since 2004 and has, until recently, been extremely active with lots of friendships being formed off the boards. There's been a fair bit of turnover this year, with guys focusing more on their personal lives and moving on.

We did have a fully operational webpage, which hasn't been updated as we're building a new one at the moment
Using STHS V3

Salary Cap is a rising cap, which starts at a hard $50m and moves up to $53m at around mid-season then up to $57.5m just before the trade deadline, which is really beneficial to teams when deciding on being buyers or sellers. Right now, we're about a week from the second increase and two weeks from the deadline. We also run a full farm system and a 7 round draft, with one season per year.

Our rerates are based off the Sim, not the NHL. We do have the option of two NHL re-rates every summer, and any player who plays less than 20 CMHL games and more than 20 NHL games gets a free re-rate, we do our own ratings system.

Currently, we have open five teams and likely to have two more opening up.
Calgary - great team, always among the best. With a good stable of prospects. A great situation to walk into

NY Islanders - A team that disappoints a lot every year it seems, but has a decent roster and a great future with depth at every position. Definitely a team in transition that could compete tomorrow with the right GM.

Arizona Coyotes - Definitely a win-now team, they've got a very solid roster, and a good but not spectacular future. If you like to win now, this is a good team to take. The previous GM loved to accumulate Habs, so that's a good option for any Habs fans in attendance.

St Louis Blues - Much like the Coyotes, another team who is built to win now but has a stronger future and more top end talent.

Chicago Blackhawks - A team that used to be great, but has been neglected for a couple years now. They have some solid pieces, some good youth but will need to be worked on.

Nashville Predators - Probably needs the most work, there isn't a lot of talent on this team - yet. There's a great stable of youth on the backend and in net coming up, but the forwards need a lot of work.

Montreal Canadiens - They've got a good team that almost always wins, a great stable of youth coming up and should be a force again soon

Washington Capitals - Another team that needs work. They've got some picks coming up but overall, prospects and roster-wise, they're going to need some work. This could be a fun team for someone who loves a good rebuild.

Montreal and Washington do currently have GMs but if someone here is looking at one of those teams, please ask. We will be taking action on those GMs if someone wants those teams.

As of right now, we aren't adding Vegas - yet. We want to get the current teams to look a little more stable before adding a 31st team. We're aiming to do that next offseason.

If you're interested in joining up, sign up on the forums and PM me. We'd love to get some new blood in our group :) My user name there is Gerg, I'm one of the guys who is in charge of the place.

Hope to hear from you guys!
