Re: Goalie Morale

@CMHLCommish why start at 50 morale? It doesn't make everyone horrible to start the season? No, I don't see why it would. As long as all players start with the same morale rating, why would it matter what the exact starting point is? It's differences in morale that generate differences in performan...

Goalie Morale

In our league, goalie morale swings way more wildly than skater morale. We start everyone in the league with a 50 MO rating. We're just about halfway through the season and out of 166 goalies in the entire league, only 25 still have a MO rating at 50 or above. 48 goalies have MO ratings under 20. We...

Hey Simon, just a heads up, your announcement says $30/year but on the Buy page, it says $35/year. Not sure which is correct.

Re: Looking for 2 New GMs - CMHL

Bump...still a few spots available in the CMHL, we are about 30+ games into our 19th season now. We are in the midst of an administrative reconfiguration as our Commish has had to step down due to health issues but the league carries on! Come check us out, join the forums and feel free to send me a ...

Re: Turn Off Finances in a Cap League

Our league has a salary cap in place with finances deactivated. I deactivated them for the exact reason you mentioned Eric, we don't use that aspect of the game and were constantly getting errors. It has never been an issue for us - our salary cap is set to the first option "Simple Calculation ...

Re: Looking for 2 New GMs - CMHL

Bump...we still have the two spots from Sept available (BOS and CHI) and we now have a third spot as our STL GM just stepped down for personal reasons. We are 12 games into the season and the Blues have the best record in the league thus far so an opportunity to step right into a winning team. Both ...

Looking for 2 New GMs - CMHL

Hey, The Cyber Management Hockey League (CMHL) is entering its 19th season and we're looking for GMs for Boston and Chicago. Website: www.cmhlhockey.ca We are a hybrid sim/nhl-rerate league using sim engine 1.5. We have both pro and farm leagues and GMs manage a team in each. Players playing 20 or m...

Re: Weird Issue with v1 - Wondering if its coincidence or no

I suppose that could be possible too, but I don't think it would account for this. GMs in our league don't update their lines that frequently or that dramatically. Any GM could typically get a very good sense of the opponents lines for their next game just by looking at that team's last game. Thank ...

Weird Issue with v1 - Wondering if its coincidence or not?

Hi Simon, Just a quick question. We are running v1 still in our league, and we have three different people simming, each with their own unique licensed version of the simulator. We have been finding that whenever someone runs the sim on their computer, they have an abnormally high rate of success co...

Established League looking for 3-4 GM's

Hi there, I am the commissioner of the CMHL. We have just finished our 9th season of operations and have a terrific core group of GMs, many of which have been GMs since the very beginning. I know there is a large French community here on STHS - we have a group of about 5-6 GMs from the Montreal area...

Re: Buyouts

In our league, GM's pay a pro-rated amount for the current contract year based on how many games are left, and then the full amount for all remaining contract years. It also doesn't matter whether the player is pro or farm, the buyout cost is the full cost of the contract. Example: Player A has a 4 ...

No.
A good decision too! Changing player numbers in FHL was such a pain in the arse!

Re: League option: Simulation option

I agree with Icepilot. We just moved from FHL to STHS this summer, and I had to run about 10-15 full seasons using different settings before I was able to get results that I really liked. Try some settings, run a season and then look at the team stats to see the ranges for GF/G, PIM/G, Shots/G, etc....

Re: How do you handle released players?

In my league, we have a hard cap (i.e. not influenced by available/current funds), and buyouts do not count against the salary cap - there's just no easy way to keep track of it so we don't bother. In fact, it gives some GM's a quick way to get out of a salary cap problem which they appreciate havin...
