This is what I see on all devices. On the right side the name of the player again, instead of the picture.

Is there a reason that some of the player pictures aren't shown but instead just their name appears where the picture should be? This happens with players too, that have their NHL ID in the sim and that have their picture on their NHL page.

The day numbers are in relation to the NHL schedule 23/24, that's why it doesn't start with Day 1.
