The WCHL is a sim league (V1 of STHS) based on the world of junior hockey. The challenge of the league is in succession planning, drafting, and trading.
Your older players will graduate and your younger players must take over as the seasons pass. The initial player pool was based on fictional names however draft classes are built using the names of the real players who played for these teams over the course of their history. This means that many of the NHL stars of today and years past will be added such as Cam Neely when the Portland Winterhawks alumni are added. Bobby Clarke and Reggie Leach will join when we use the Flin Flon Bombers alumni as the draft class…etc.
The league has a quick pace…we anticipate three seasons per calendar year. You’ll draft, trade, and plan (a lot). Teams will go from great to bad, then to great again. It’s all part of the cyclical nature of junior hockey.
