Retro League Needs 3 Strong GMs

Post by mjrak »

Hi all,

My name is Mike and I am the owner/operator of the Rak Sim Association. I have been a commish in the sim hockey world for over 8 years now. I currently operate 3 sim leagues, 2 hockey league and 1 baseball league. My newer retro hockey league is in need of 3 GMs.

Here are some details about the league

Sim Engine: FHL - Potential move to STHS depending on league vote after the 1990 season.
Name: World Hockey League
Abbreviation: WHL
Roster Year: 1988-89 (Gretzky's 1st Year in Los Angeles) - Playoffs are 6 days away!!
League Season #: 1 - Playoffs begin Monday October 1
Salary System: Floor & Cap in place
Farm OV Max: 69 OV
In-Season Negotiations: Die Rolls Conducted by Player Agents
Unique Incentive Points System that drives league activity
Retirements: Random by age only. The chart is posted in the rulebook and will be ran by a designated league administrator.
League Administration Positions: Commissioner, Chief Financial Officer, Campbell Conference President, Wales Conference President, Campbell Player Agent, Wales Player Agent, Amateur Scout
# of Franchises: 21
Planned Expansion: 3
1) San Jose in 1992 - Western Conference
2) Ottawa in 1994 - Eastern Conference
3) Colorado in 1996 - Western Conference

We have 3 teams open currently:

1) Buffalo Sabres (Pierre Turgeon, Dave Andreychuk, Ray Sheppard, Phil Housley, Uwe Krupp, Tom Barrasso) - They need some work and are quite young. Currently holds the 3rd overall pick in the upcoming draft. This team is widely the same team we began the league with as the GM has done nothing with them.
2) Detroit Red Wings (Steve Yzerman, Adam Oates, Bob Probert, Steve Chiasson, Adam Graves, Tim Cheveldae) - They also need some work especially on D and in net, but are young and have only a few changes to what we started the league with. Currently holds a playoff spot and the 6th OV draft pick.
3) Pittsburgh Penguins (Mario Lemieux, John Cullen, Brent Sutter, Paul Coffey, Zarley Zalapski). Solid almost .500 team currently holds a playoff spot and the 9th OV pick in the draft.

Feel free to visit the website and look around.
