Funny you say that cause making them closer together evened out the scoring but then there wasn't enough separation from the stars and grunts in the SC category. I didn't have time to modify the ratings I acquired.36Henry wrote: A few things struck me though. Both your leagues appear to have very similar ratings with the majority o forwards somewhere in the 50-70 range for the offensive categories like PA and SC. Likewise your goalies are also in the same kind of range with the top guys somewhere in the mid to low 80's as far as I can tell. Given the many similarities it may not be surprising that you both experienced problems of some kind. I certainly know how the cycle of testing and adjusting can lead things in all kinds of directions, but I believe there are other ways of making the adjustments that produce better results.
We had one year where the ratings set was quite wide, and that worked really well for 2.0 that year, 2010/2011 I believe, but they stopped making them. I really want to make 2.1 work. I just gave up and putting up with the high scoring this year.....
I don't mind to work at my ratings but more pointers would be appreciated. I would take a base set and modify according to the pointers. Just don't have time to build from scratch
