BRHL 13-14 Ratings

Post by BRHL Hockey »

A heads up to our subscribers’.

We anticipate the new ratings being set out within a week of the NHL season concluding. We've revamped a few ratings to provide a great disparity between superstars-topliners-2ndliners-3rdliners-etc...
Preliminary testing seems to be working quite well. We've got a good chunk of the background data work done, and we're just waiting for the complete season stats and we should be able to fire them out right quick.

Thank you as always for your support.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A reminder for those not familiar with our work;

The BRHL Ratings package are a pay for ratings package, and have been released every year since 2001. Our ratings are typically out before the end of April.

So they are prompt and accurate. Once a suscriber, suggested slider settings, as well as modifications are sent to you as well.
We offer 3 different subscription offers

- 1 year subscription $30
- 2 year subscription - $50
- Lifetime subscription - $75 (at least 3 years or your money back should we cease to do them).

If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] and I can get you an invoice, the file, and provide support ASAP.

A few highlights
- v2 ratings package
- All players who played in at least 10 NHL or AHL games are created
- There is no coach or ref file included.
- Injured NHLers who missed most of the year due to injury are here with about 85% of their statistical attributes.
- PS (Penalty Shot) ratings are based on lifetime ratios. Players with less than 10 attempts (and goalies) are scaled down a bit.
- All ratings are 100% based of NHL statistics (with the exception of SK, which is done by a panel)
*NEW for 13-14* Updated player scale to more effectively differentiate between player skill levels.

An update for our suscribers, and interested parties.

Background legwork is completed, we should have no problems having full ratings out within a week of the NHL season.

Also, included in your subscription this year will be a European File, for the top players from the KHL, SHL, Liiga, Extraligua (Czech & Slovak), NLA, DEL, and AUS. The stronger the league, the more players there are (roughly 225 each from KHL & SHL). The total File is about 1100 players. Also included is a calculator for you to enter the players information, and it will output ratings. You will have a preset International Tournament File with players from the NHL, AHL and European Leagues to enable your league to easily put on Olympics, World Cups, and World Championships, and pretty much any tournament you can think of.

This addition is FREE to our current suscribers, and is included with new ones as well.

Thanks to all for your continued support. Remember, if you have a league advertisement, feel free to email it to me and we will post it on our board as well.

Another exciting development for our subscribers!

As per a request, we've developed phase one of a retro calculator, which allows you to create an entire db of players from past seasons, all with stat based ratings.

Currently it's built for seasons prior to 1982-83, but seasons after that will be adjusted shortly.

This is included with your subscription if you are a lifetime subscriber. Because we're providing you with the calculator, a lifetime subscription is required to get the Calculator.

So currently a lifetime subscription gets you
- New AHL/NHL file
- European file (beginning in 2014)
- Retro Calculator (by request)
- Recent Files (2013, 2012, etc) (by request)

If you're interested in becoming a subscriber, please shoot me an email.

Are your rating test with V2.1?

If I understand correctly, the rating are done from the NHL Stats from last year? Is it possible to have them with the stats from the last two years (70-30%)?

They weren't last year but will be this year along with slider suggestions.

We rate based on the most recent season to get a true impact of how a player performed in the most recent season, and do not intend to go away from that.
