The SHL (Be a Player) League

Post by Bleak »

Hey guys! PREPARE FOR A LONG POST O.O It's worth it though.

The SHL - http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?act=idx

I would like you all to consider trying out our hockey simulation. How it is different then most hockey sim's is that you do not control a team, you control a player! For your player you can gain extra points to build up your skills to be a Bobby Orr, Wayne Getzky, Pavol Dats, The Big Z, Crosby, Malkin, Ovie, etc. There are so many different types of players you can model yourself off of.

We are well established and have been strong for over a year now. We are just about to start the S13 SHL preseason. The S13 NWJHL (junior league) draft will be in about a week from now.

Firstly you are drafted into the NWJHL which is the minor league where you can showcase your dedication and your skill set. There are 6 different NWJHL teams that are able to draft you. During the course of the season you can go to a Training Camp that is held by the team to improve your skills, also you can train by yourself one a week. That isn't all! There are always point competition or tasks to participate in to gain even more points.

You will notice that all the teams have a different atmosphere about them. Every team is very friendly though, so do not be afraid to ask questions even to opposing players.

Here is the general rookie guide if you are curious: http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showtopic=8583

But I will condense it in a simpler manner.

The way it works:
First you create a player by following this link: http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showforum=3
There is a template for you to give you your default stats and when you create you get to add 155 more points to that template. Note there is a scale you have to follow because as you improve your own skills, the effort it takes to increase your skills increases as well.

From 50 to 80, it costs 1 point to improve by one.
From 80 to 85, it costs 2 points to improve by one.
From 85 to 90, it costs 3 points to improve by one.
From 90 to 95, it costs 4 points to improve by one.
From 95 to 99, it costs 5 points to improve by one.

Throughout the year you can train up your player to add even more points. This can be obtained by spending money to acquire personal training, our own version of 'twitter', various different point tasks that will be put up throughout the year, and surprise competitions.

Here is a post explaining training to you: http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showtopic=20495
