Re: NAIHL 2009-10 Ratings
We will be doing the ratings again. I have not started them, as my Son is graduating from High School this year and we have been busy with that. Look for them by July 15th.
We will be using the same process as in previous years with one major tweak. Based on feedback from how the V2 engine works we will be "opening up" a much wider range on the tables. In previous years, most ratings were heavily stacked from 55/60 to 85/90. Look for this year to see a wider range from 10/15 to 90/95. The NHL stats we pull will be the same for each attribute, but the range on the ratings will be much wider. This is in response to the many V2 threads with comments about "lower players" performing well and Simon's comments about the ratings not utilizing the full scale.
Unless there is a large demand for V1 (at least 10 requests in this thread) we will only do a V2 this year.

Well great to here, but I would like to See V1 Ratings if there is a demand for it... just letting you know. Thanks.

Great news to hear! I am another who would like to see ratings for V1.NAIHLStars wrote:Unless there is a large demand for V1 (at least 10 requests in this thread) we will only do a V2 this year.
If you do end up doing ratings for V1 will you be doing them with the same formulas as last year, or will you implement the "tweak" you described above for V2 ratings? Because your ratings last year for V1 were fantastic!

Re: NAIHL 2009-10 Ratings
We will publish 4 sets of ratings.
V1: Traditional tables - using same tables as last year.
V1: Expanded tables - using tables with lower lows and higher highs.
V2: Traditional tables - using same tables as last year.
V2: Expanded tables - using tables with lower lows and higher highs.
If there are any commissioners out there who have some extra time around July 15th, I'd be curious to have some simulations of a season run using the traditional and expanded versions and reporting out on the differences in results.
