Is it possible to have a one-way contract not count against the cap?

Post by WCHLcommish »

Is there a way to have a one-way contract on the farm not count against the salary cap? That was possible in versions prior but in 2.2.6 it seems to count all one-way contracts on the farm against the pro salary cap and I can't find a way around that. I checked the manual and it appears the only option is to have one-ways count against the cap or to just get rid of one-ways all together.

So is there a way to have a one-way contract on the farm pay the player his full salary yet not count against the actual pro team salary cap?

Hi.

You can check the "Exclude from Payroll" (Rename 'Exclude from Salary' in 2.2.7) on the players do it's contract not count against the cap.

Two follow up questions on that matter:

A) If you click 'exclude from payroll' does the players full wage still get deducted from the teams bank account (IE. Player X signs a 1 year $1 million, one-way deal and he gets sent to the farm. if you click 'exclude from payroll' does the $1 million still come out of the bank?)

B) When a player that has 'exclude from payroll' selected gets recalled, do you have to manually go and unselect that or does the sim automatically remove the 'exclude from payroll' option? I assume it won't, meaning I'd have to monitor every team every day most likely. Am I correct?

Thanks.

Is it possible to have it considered for a future update to make it so one-way contracts can be on the farm without having to manually deal with the exclude from payroll option? It would require daily monitoring to see who a team recalled that was excluded from payroll, and it'd require manual work as well to click exclude from payroll anyone who is demoted. It could a bit of time to figure out why a team suddenly has a cap error if someone is demoted. The current set up doesn't mirror the NHL or the way it was in previous STHS editions. Not complaining, I think the sim is excellent, just this seems like an option that falls through the cracks.

Actually, I did that option in the STHS yesterday. ;) The option allows to choose between 1% and 100% of the player salary who will be apply to the team salary cap.

Nice, thanks SimonT! Is that included in the 2.2.7 version recently released?

It count on the salary cap even when i click on it. THe only way is to remove the one-way (not really an option...) or to put the guy on waiver again and again.

Where's the % thing suppose to be?

Ok i found it. Pro salary in farm / 1 way contract salary cap %. I put it to 0. I'll see if it works after the waiver is over

Thank you
