Personally, I don't think scoring and deking are as closely-related as people think.Kitsune wrote:I still say both are not needed, as Dekeing is covered in puck handling and skating, and PS is covered with SK/PH/SC and possibly a few others. I defintely like to have something for goalies that cover horizontal movement (how fast they can get side to side). I dont think thats really covered by anything, maybe RT and SC? Also, we need a more solid answer on SC, I still dont get what the point of it is, even though it appears to have the biggest impact on a goalies OV.
For example, take a player like Erik Christiensen, who is never going to be a real offensive player in the NHL. He is outstanding in shootouts and on breakaways, but if you combine his SK/PH/SC ratings, it doesn't reflect his breakaway prowess.
Yet, you take a player like Sidney Crosby, Thomas Vanek, Markus Naslund, Daniel Briere (and I can go on), they have proven to be less than formidable in the shootouts so combining a SK/PH/SC-type rating for their shootouts isn't accurate in the least.
