I just started doing a roster set for the 1967-68 season
(the first year of expansion)
and i am using some ratings from a apba hockey game i own
which has ratings for the players in many categories
I would like some input on the following
My question how would i convert a 1 to 5 rating in to a number for STHS
if i am rating players on speed from 1 to 5
would a 5 rating be a 90, and a 4 rating a 85, and etc
or is it all subjective
any comments would be appericated
thanks

It's all subjective.

Speed of 1 : between 50-60
Speed of 2 : between 60-70
Speed of 3 : between 70-80
Speed of 4 : between 80-90
Speed of 5 : between 90-99
You sort the players by their speed rate (from 1 to 5) and then, using Excell, you enter this formula into the first player's speed rate : =50+10*ALEA() This formula will give you a random number between 50 and 60. For the Speed 2 players, the formula will be =60+10*ALEA() and so on!
If "ALEA" doesn't work for you, try something like "RAND"... ALEA is for Aléatoire, the French word for Random.
