6 - overflow in mnuProspectsImport
I get this message when I try importing prospect files from the Ratings2008 zip
E.g.:
OHL20082009 -PlayersRatings
E.g.:
OHL20082009 -PlayersRatings

Re: 6 - overflow in mnuProspectsImport
The OHL20082009 -PlayersRatings is not a prospect file. It's a CSV file to be use with Update Players Stat Function.

What are you trying to achieve really? The mnuProspectsImport fonction is really for advanced users.

Re: 6 - overflow in mnuProspectsImport
There are a bunch of new players missing from the 2008-2009 Ratings package (mostly rookies) so I'm just trying to figure out the best way to bring them in.

By player, you want them to have stats, contract and salary?

Yes. So I guess perhaps a prospect file wasn't what I needed to start with. I thought that maybe the missing players would be in the ratings file of their "old" league; e.g.: LHJMQ or OHL so I though I'd import the OHL File. That worked fine but it wiped out all my rosters. Is there anyway to load a ratings file without wiping existing roster or am I gonna have to enter the missing players by hand?SimonT wrote:By player, you want them to have stats, contract and salary?

If you select the correct option in the Update Player Stats Windows, it'll not wipe your existing roster. Please read the manual for more information.TheAvatar wrote:Yes. That's helpful. I'm just glad I spent my hard earned cash to be told to RTFM. And if you had read the Manuel, you have read.
Bonus - Prospect Import :
This section of the STHS is used to directly import a list of prospect for your league. This option is NOT a replacement for your entry draft.
For imported a CSV file Prospect, you only have to create a CSV file according to the following logic: The team number + comma + player name + comma and repeat.

Re: 6 - overflow in mnuProspectsImport
Ok got it. Thanks. So first year players are not in the rankings file because there is insufficient information to rank (rate) them; that makes sense. How then should these 1st year players be treated? Are they able to dress for the big club? How does the sim treat them?SimonT wrote:And if you had read the Manuel, you have read.

Usually, fantasy hockey league based on the NHL are always 1 year late. Rookie are add 1 year after, Retired Player are retired one year after. If you are using a fantasy hockey league NOT based on NHL, it's simply up to you to create those player in the Edit Players Windows.
