STHS + Windows 8

This morning, I successfully test the STHS and STHS Client on the final version of Windows 8 x86. But be careful because the STHS and the STHS Client will not run on the Windows RT Edition of Windows 8. Windows 8 RT is running on new processor architecture that is not compatible with all the old Windows softwares including the STHS and STHS Client.

The first time you’ll run the STHS or the STHS Client, you might be asked to install a Windows Feature (Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 / 3.5). Once the downloading and installation is completed, the STHS and the STHS Client will run successfully.

You might get a warning from Windows saying “Windows protected your PC”. This message happens because the STHS is an unknown publisher for Windows. Click “More info” and Click “Run Anyway” to continue. This warning happens 2-3 times on my test computer and never came back after.

Ce matin, j’ai testé le STHS et le STHS Client sur la version finale de Windows 8 x86. Faîtes attention car le STHS et le STHS Client ne fonctionneront pas sur l’édition Windows RT de Windows 8. Windows 8 RT fonctionne sur une nouvelle architecture de processeur qui n’est pas compatible avec tous les vieux logiciels de Windows incluant le STHS et le STHS Client.

La première fois que vous ouvrez le STHS ou le STHS Client, vous pourriez vous faire demander d’installer une fonctionnalité de Windows (Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 / 3.5). Une fois le téléchargement et l’installation complété, le STHS et le STHS Client fonctionneront correctement.

Il est possible que vous receviez un message de Windows qui dit « Windows a protégé votre ordinateur ». Ce message arrive parce le STHS est d’un éditeur inconnu de Windows. Cliquez sur « Plus d’information » et cliquer sur « Exécuter » pour continuer. Cet avertissement s’est produit seulement 2-3 fois sur mon ordinateur de test et n’est jamais revenu.
