As you no doubt know, in real life when an overtime starts with a PP and there is no goal scored on that power play, the play continues to 4 on 4 until the next stoppage of play. Then it becomes 3 on 3.
This is what happened in a game today in my league:
Penalty at 19:19 of the 3rd period (so 41 seconds left). Power play for the Sabres. They do not score to end the 3rd period, game heads to overtime.
4 on 3 PP for Buffalo in OT, they do not score.
Penalty ends, there was no stoppage of play according to the full play-by-play, immediately the sim went to 3 on 3.
