Entry Draft Option

Post by Kramden23 »

It would be really nice to have an option to NOT include draft info (year/pick#) to prospects when running the entry draft. I don't like having this info on the prospect page, so it gets pretty annoying to have to go through and edit every-single-player drafted.

I don't see the point. Once a player is drafted, who cares where and when he was drafted. I'm not asking for this info to be removed, just to have an option to not include it.

Then you could leave the option enabled to include the info

ya it's strange you won't want to know. At a glance you can see which prospects are a bust and just ignore or know they still have potential due to how recent they were drafted.

Like for trading of prospects, this sort of information is useful to have an idea of how long a prospect has been around and maybe help you avoid doing any unnecessary research.

This info (correct me if I'm wrong), is only practical to leagues using csv's to create pages for their leagues as the info displays in the csv files. Other than that, the info displays in the Team Prospects page and disappears once the player has been removed from the prospects list.

Unless you want to keep a history of your players by making professional looking pages for each player in your league and display the draft info of the player, the info is not all that relevant. It is interesting to know, indeed for means of comparison, but I don't see other uses for it really.

Still, I would be in favor of adding an option to have it display or not.

Another year of having to manually edit 150 prospects
It would be really great it you could finally make the draft info optional.

I realize this is an old thread, but I believe you can disable the draft option altogether and simply import the draft class using a csv file to their respective teams. For example:

Connor McDavid,3
Jack Eichel, 10

This means McDavid was drafted by team number 3, Eichel by team number 10.

No editing (as it doesn't contain the pick info) and much faster than entering pick by pick in the sim itself. Just two columns in excel.

It's not the team that draft the player but the team he is listed in the prospect window of the client. So if the prospect is traded the team# will change.

It still seems much easier to just have a check-box option to NOT include this info on the prospect page when running the draft

Any chance you ever add this option? About to go through yet another draft of having to manually edit over 150 players :(

If I make a manual command that erase the OverallPick and Year Information, will you happy?
