Assign Players to Team by CSV

Post by olah711 »

I'm getting an error where when I upload a CSV with the Team,Player list, it send the players who are listed for Chicago (CHI) to Carolina (CAR). If I then go to initiate a transaction between the teams to send the player to Chicago, the player that was wrong fully sent to Carolina is unavailable in the transaction menu. Example I'm running into is with Tyler Bertuzzi.

Does the player has the "No Trade" option activate?

Yes, I did the Player Salary Import by CSV, which said it processed correctly, then went through and added the No Trade. Only realize today that he ended up on the wrong team and was unable to assign to the correct team by CSV

Your last comment is confusing me. Did you resolve your issue or not?

No this is still an issue. Originally Bertuzzi (a then free agent with no contract) was set up to be assigned to Chicago in my league. Using the 'Assign Player by Salary' his line was "Tyler Bertuzzi,CHI,4,4625000" in the CSV. When this was uploaded he was sent to Carolina. I didn't realize this had happened at the time but then updated him by checking the "No Trade" box. When I did realize this had happened, I attempted to correct this by using the "Assign Players by Team". His line on the CSV used there was "CHI,Tyler Bertuzzi". This did not move him to Chicago. Even after releasing him from Carolina, using the "Assign Players by Team" still sent him to Carolina. He did not have "No Trade" check off when doing this. This continues to be an issue where players intended for Chicago are being sent to Carolina instead when using the Assign by CSV options.

Check your teams abbreviation. It need to match your CSV file.

Share a link of your league that can help Simon.

But if you have 1 player with an issue, why you don't remove the "No Trade" attribute and simply trade him? You seem make the situation very complex for nothing.

Its not just 1 player. This happens with any player that is supposed to be assigned to Chicago, they go to Carolina instead. Its a problem now and in the long run for free agency (like this year) when I'm assigning 100+ players to teams and any that are meant for Chicago I have to either manually do them or go back and do extra work. I've sent you a PM with the leagues STH file.

Then if you have 50 players assigned to Caroline, trade them to Chicago.

Okay, I was more hoping that you'd be able to help figure out why this is happening instead of giving me the workaround I was already doing.
