Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
DVHL to be released in August/September and in my opinion are the best.

I second that.Icepilot wrote:DVHL to be released in August/September and in my opinion are the best.

Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
I meant so far. I'm starting a new league, and I'm leaning towards LCHV.
Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
Out of those three, I would pick the LCHV ratings simply because it includes all players that played at least one NHL or AHL game in the 2008-2009 regular season. Thanks for the effort Alex!

Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
Best thing to do is create 3 leagues (Save them as League1, League 2 or League 3), one using each of the rates. Then sim a couple of season and see what the results are.
Once you have those you can decide which set is the best for your league.
As to which one is the best it depends on what your looking for.

That's a good idea. Maybe I should do that before I decide on using LCHV.Icepilot wrote:Best thing to do is create 3 leagues (Save them as League1, League 2 or League 3), one using each of the rates. Then sim a couple of season and see what the results are.

I prefer the SimHL Standardized Ratings myself: http://www.simhl.net/ratings.html

I think all ratings are a plus for the STHS community
but I prefer the Simhl Ratings

Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
Seriously?? They throw 99's around like it's nothing. When Greg Zanon has a DF rating of 99 I need not even continue looking lolCNGHL Angus wrote:I prefer the SimHL Standardized Ratings myself: http://www.simhl.net/ratings.html

Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
SimHL bases all their ratings strictly on their formulas. I believe that they do not use basic common sense sometimes.Kramden23 wrote:Seriously?? They throw 99's around like it's nothing. Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
Overall the rates are not bad, but to have players with a 99DF must mean the formula is flawed as no one should ever be that high.

Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
thats a matter of opinion. thats why I built the excel sheets and have math formulas create the ratings. because your opinion on someones skill is completely different from the next guy. no players would ever get rated the same or fairly.
if you allow the formulas create the players and have all the players be evaluated by the same rules, at least its fair.
comment on Greg Zannon, he is 9th in the league for short hand ice time, 3rd in the league for blocked shots, has a low give away ratio. Just because he has one rating that is good, doesn't make him the best defenseman in the game. there are 13 other ratings to consider.
This debat could go on and on just like you opinion on players skills.
again, that is why i built the math formulas because math doesn't LIE and ints not OBJECTIVE.
I won't continue on this forum because I'll most likely get upset and I will discontinue releaseing updates to the site and the ratings.

Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
After reading your explanation i see your point.
If everything is based on stats and the formulas are equal to all players, then i guess it is possible to see a player with a 99DF.
I guess i was being close minded as myself and probably many in the sim hockey world expect to see the what we consider top NHL d-man with the best DF ratings, But like you said "math doesn't LIE and ints not OBJECTIVE."
Has anyone run a test season with these rates yet and if so what would be the Sim slider settings be to get to NHL level stats ?

Re: POLL: Which ratings are the best?
D'après moi tout les ratings sont bien. Tout dépend de la manière de les regarder.
