Waivers
I've recently had a question in my league in regards to salary and waivers. I was hoping someone can give me some insight on how the V1/V2 of the SIM processes.
Player A gets submitted to Waivers.
Player A makes $7M a season.
Player A gets picked up by new team with half the salary.
So my question is this: If Player A makes $7M and new team picks him up, does the sim adjust the remaining salary at half to their cap hit? Also, in the NHL, when this happens, does the new team get the full salary for the remaining contract, only the first season they picked up the waiver, or what?
Not sure how the NHL does it exactly and how the SIM processes it.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Waivers
You'll get 2 differents answer from me.
V1 : Players will get pick up by new team with 100% of the salary on the new team salary cap. New team will paid an % of the year salaries. For example, waiver after 20 games on 82 games, new team will paid 75% ((82-20)/82) of is salaries from is finance.
V2 : Players will get pick up by new team with an % of year salaries. The % of year salaries will also be apply to new team salary cap.
In the sim, there is no salary cap implication for waiver. Claiming a player on the waiver is basically like trading a player for nothing for the sim unless the Waiver Financiel Compensation is different then 0.

Side note/question: Will a version in the future allow for splitting the salary 1/2 between the teams after the first year?
Also,
Will the future versions allow for individual year break down in salaries, say if a Team wants to sign a guy to a front loaded contract?

Correct.UltimateCommish wrote:V2: Team picking up player will also pick up remaining % of salary for current year and 100% of each additional year thereafter?
I could for year 1 but not for year 2 and more.UltimateCommish wrote:Side note/question: Will a version in the future allow for splitting the salary 1/2 between the teams after the first year?
I'm not sure to understand your question but V2 allow different salaries per year.UltimateCommish wrote:Also, Will the future versions allow for individual year break down in salaries, say if a Team wants to sign a guy to a front loaded contract?
