You can't Update Player Positions ONLY. You have to have Update Players checked before the positions are updated.

The manual speaks of them all as individual actions you can choose.

You have to update Rating. THEN, you can select what else you want to update at the same time (Position, Salaries, Contract).

The option is think the other way around to be honnest, you are supposed to update everything but uncheck what you don't want.

But I don't want to update ratings, just position...

Also if you want to keep the way it is, to make it clear in the sim, the other update player options should be grey and read only when Update Player Ratings is Unchecked.

EDIT Additional Note: There's option where player ratings can change, I presume, duing the season. Doesn't forcing Player Ratings Update ERASE all these changes?

Yes. Some league prefers to update the rating in the season with their own rating little modification instead of letting the simulator do it.

so anyways, what is your position? Ratings will always have to be updated? I can't update the other player info without touching the player ratings? If that's the case, then I would like a suggestion for you to consider making it all independent.

I can actually do it but after, you'll bug me that about URLLink, Country, Weight, Height and Rookie who are always update...

Good suggestion! Actually I think it should be tied to Update Age for the above so we can have:

Update Players - check this option to update players ratings
Update Salaries and Contracts - check this option to update the salaries and contract length of players
Update Details - check this option to update the players' age, URLLink, Country, Weight, Height and Rookie
Update Position - check this option to update the players' position
Send Players not Updated to Prospect List - check this option so player not found in the rating file are sent to his team's prospect list.

All independent of course so you won't have to explain why Update Players must always be checked in the manual
