Clutch Rating

Post by sportsceo »

I thought i'd make a suggestion on a potential idea for a future version of the sim. First off i'm the first to admit I have no idea how the Sim is developed so this idea may be way off base and impossible!

I think a "Clutch" Rating should be added to the Player Ratings. I know theres an Experience and Leadership Ratings but that has nothing to do with a Clutch Performer. If a player with a higher Clutch rating played better than others in Overtime, Final Minute it would be fantastic.

Just a thought I had.

I am pretty sure SP covers that, but I may be wrong.

SP? Not sure what that one is, I don't see it on any ratings. There PS for the Penalty Shots but no that wouldn't cover Clutch Performance and how a player picks up his play in the last minutes or overtime.

So if a player has a high Star Power they will have a higher probability of scoring at the end of games and overtime. That's fantastic to know. We are doing our own ratings for our league next season and I had no idea about that... Thanks...

All I meant by clutch simon is a player who will perform better during the important situations such as overtime and the last minutes of a game.

A definition would be the following.

A tense, critical situation: ie. came through in the clutch.

Thanks,

I am still a little confused though, after looking at the V2 Manual it says the following about Star Power.

Star Power (the higher the number the more revenue teams generate from home games)

To me that does nothing to how a player performs in the Clutch (important) parts of the game such as Overtime and the last minute. It just means you get more attendance at the games.

Hi.

Clutch Rating doesn't exist in the STHS and will not exist for the simple fact that I'm not creating new rating for at least 5 years!

Star Power only affects tickets sales, not performances on the ice!

Thanks Simon, I had a feeling it might be a bit unrealistic at this point. I love the sim though, nothing compares to it anywhere. Keep up the great work....

I have a general feeling that leadership (LD) has a small influence in the playoffs. Though I don't think there's such a thing as "clutch" for final minutes of games or late season heroics.

By who? beta-testers?? Simon??

A team with a lot of hight rated SP players will bring much more fans in the arena then other teams. That is why this rating has benn created at the first place.

a clutch rating would be very hard to evaluate anyways.... being clutch is a combination of many things. SC ability, PH, ST, PERSONALITY/Poise which would be something almost impossible to put a number to.

I like the idea but I don't see how you'd be able to put it in realistically and fairly...
