League Options>Teams>Salary Cap

I'm hoping someone can tell me the difference between options 2 and 4, as the manual does not provide any further information.....

2. Fixed Value
4. V1 Calculation Fixed Value

In V2, I use the real NHL Payroll calculation. In V1, it's simply the Total Players Salaries.

Could you possibly provide more information on how the calculation works, or provide a link to somewhere I may read about the calculation structure?
