Ratings information / Information sur les côtes

Post by SimonT »

Hi everyone.

After multiple month of thinking, I finally decided to publish in the manual exact information about the rating and where they are used in the simulating engine. If you read the manual section 7.2, you’ll find information that tell you exactly the impact of each rating has for players and goalies. I hope this information will help everyone better understand the STHS.

Thank you.

===

Ahhh, sigh. The ratings creator in me is so happy! The GM in me is sad that such golden information is now made public and so easily and so clearly available to all.

Merci!
Thanks!

Quick question : would you reveal as well if other info has influence on the sim?

Ex : Size, country (who knows), being captain or assistant, age (maybe?) or contract situation?

I know for a fact that FHL's size had no influence whatsoever, but I think it had some for STHS (you mentioned this at least once).

My main concern is for goalie : What happens if a goalie is 6'8', 260 but only 50 in SZ? Or if he's 5'6'', 155 and 95 in SZ? Will the sim notice the irregularity?

Thank you for releasing this information, Simon! I think it will be a big help for the STHS rating creators in the future. On the flip side, I do not believe you have released so much information that it will negate the effect that a smart GM has on his team.

I update the manual to answer most of your question :D except for captain/assistant. I prefer to keep that part secret. Sorry. :|

A possible heads up on which is and which isn't? Besides penalty shot ratings of course.

wow that's huge for ratings creation. For my league, we are NHL ratings based so it really comes down to a GM picking out his player based on what we know him in the NHL (or prospects guessing). While I'm sure some people will figure out a good formula, hope there's still enough other valid variable factors in play that can affect the sim!

Experience - The higher the stat, the better his morale and his team morale will be. Limited effect on faceoff.
Leadership - The higher the stat, the better his morale and his team morale will be.
So can we assume that EX and LD have no impact on playoff performance (especially if league morale setting is at 1) as opposed to what we thought they impacted in FHL?
