Re: HOW TO: Install the client in MAC OSX
Were your users working ok previously?
Here's the error my MAC GM currently gets, hopefully it can pinpoint the problem.

Yes they were managing just fine previously.ynohtna wrote:Were your users working ok previously?

It blows goats that STHS isn't more compatible with Macs, there would be a much larger pool of prospective GMs to draw from if they didn't get so frustrated and quit right away because they can't get it working.

Was kinda hoping simon would see the screenshot and know right away the problem.
Do your GM get the same problem?

Re: HOW TO: Install the client in MAC OSX
I also am very frustrated. I bought the product thinking that it would work on a mac, based on this thread, and so far none of my GMs can get it working on their mac. Simon, can you please address this issue and invest some time and money into making a platform for the mac users? Most applications in todays day and age are compatible on both. Our league is new and struggling already because of this issue. Am considering requesting a refund because of the issue.

Re: HOW TO: Install the client in MAC OSX
Sorry but I keep saying the same thing over and over. I don't have a Mac and I cannot test anything on a Mac. The only thing I know is that your GM must have the same version of the STHS Client that you. If you have 2.2.6, they must have STHS Client for Mono 2.2.6.

it had worked at times, it just breaks every version or two Simon, the screenshot I posted earlier doesn't give any clues?

Re: HOW TO: Install the client in MAC OSX
Sometimes the solution to a problem is the simplest thing. My Sim manager asked me what file name I used. I replied "SimonTHockeySimulator.exe" of course. He said "OH" and changed it on his end. All of a sudden my lines that were giving me errors suddenly worked.
You need to make sure they match between the Sim and the client

Re: HOW TO: Install the client in MAC OSX
I have a new sub-section on the manual call "Error loading file generated with the Mono Client" under the Frequent Error section of the Manual. It should help you fix the issue : http://sths.simont.info/ManualV2_En.php#Frequent_Errors

Re: HOW TO: Install the client in MAC OSX
I updated the original post, but will post here to bump.
Just went through the process again, and found no problems.
**** UPDATED Friday, 9th December, 2016 ****
** RE-INSTALLED onto a mid 2010 MacBook Pro running MacOSX 10.10.5 (Yosemite)
1) Install XQuartz
https://www.xquartz.org
This will work for any MacOSX version after 10.6.3
2) Install Mono Framework
http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html
Select the MACOSX version --
3) Download the STHS MONO Client
http://sths.simont.info/Download_En.php
For this install, I used STHS Client V3 for Mac and Linux Only - v3.0.9
http://sths.simont.info/DownloadFiles.p ... -3-0-9.zip
4) Unzip the file you downloaded in Step 3. After unzipping, move the Client (SimonTHockeySimulator.exe) into your main user folder on your Mac.
In your Mac Finder it is the MAIN directory, in my case it's my name, it has the little house icon, it's the base directory for the computer, other folders include your Documents, Downloads, Applications etc., folders.
Included in the zip folder with SimonTHockeySimulator.exe is a readme.txt file. READ IT. It's helpful. I've included the instructions from here below, as it helped me.
5) Download the .stc league file and move it into the same folder as your SimonTHockeySimulator.exe file.
This is the file you get from your league, with all your players.
6) Rename the file SimonTHockeySimulator.exe, that you had already moved into your main folder.
If you downloaded v2 of the file, change the name of SimonTHockeySimulator.exe to SimonTHockeySimulator-v2.exe.
If you downloaded v3 of the file, change the name of SimonTHockeySimulator.exe to SimonTHockeySimulator-v3.exe.
7) Open XQuartz (found in your APPLICATIONS folder UTILITIES)
Once XQuartz is open, look under the Applications pull-down menu (in the task bar at the top of your screen, next to the apple logo), and click on APPLICATIONS, and select TERMINAL (or just hit CMD-N)
A terminal window will open (called "xterm") and in the window you will see this:
bash-3.2$
TYPE into the window the follow
mono SimonTHockeySimulator-v3.exe
(or mono SimonTHockeySimulator-v2.exe if you're running version 2)
9) I got a warning inside the terminal window of QuartzX, saying "WARNING: The runtime version supported by this application is unavailable.
Using default runtime: v4.0.30319"
This is totally fine. Ignore it. And go to step 10.
10) WAIT....
I had to wait well over a minute before suddenly, the client opened on my screen. I was able to open the league file (.stc.) with no problems.

Re: HOW TO: Install the client in MAC OSX
Having trouble getting this process to work on a Mid 2014 Macbook pro running Yosemite 10.10.5
Not really the most computer savvy guy but my computer recognizes the "STHS Client V3 for Mac and Linux Only - v3.0.9" aa only a Microsoft file and therefore I cannot open it or unzip it.
Curious if I'm missing something or if this is a mistake on the website? How do I get the version of the client that will be recognized on a Mac so I can download it/access the support files etc.?

Re: HOW TO: Install the client in MAC OSX
I keep getting the following error while trying to open the latest version of the STHS client using the latest versions of mono and xquartz on Mac OS 10.12.6 Sierra
Got a SIGSEGV while executing native code. This usually indicates
a fatal error in the mono runtime or one of the native libraries
used by your application
Any ideas how to fix this?
