2.1.6.6 Import CSV Error

Greetings,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a configuration error on my part. I'm running STHS in Windows 8 as administrator and I am trying to import the salaries .csv file. After configuring the import like this:

Players Option:

Update Players (checked), Update Salaries and Contracts (checked) - nothing else checked

I try to import the Players Salaries 2012-2016 CSV file and I get a windows error:

Exception Type: System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException
Message-Source: Length of the data to decrypt is invalid. - mscorlib

and then a bunch of stack trace messages.

Any idea what the issue might be?

You cannot import CSV files directly into the STHS v2. The STHS v2 only import STR file. You need to transfers your CSV into STR file with the STHS V2 Utility.

Using the utility throws up another error:

System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to path 'C:\Program Files\STHS\CvsInput.log' is denied

The directory is world writeable. Is there a VB library that needs to be installed in order for this tool to work?

No. The users permission you have running the program doesn't allow you to write in this folder. Run the program as Administrator or move the program to "My Document" folder.

Apologies for all the trouble but now I'm running in to the 'name field didn't pass the validation test'. I've search for this error on the board and have not found a solution yet.

The CSV you are trying to import is not format correctly.

The file we're trying to import was created by you and included in the Ratings File 2012 Package. It is the Players Salaries 2012-2016.csv file. Is there a newer version that is formated correctly?

This is not a CSV correctly format to be import in the STHS Rating Utility. This file is only there as information from the NHL.
