Unknown Players

Post by myRPHA.com »

Anyone know the easy way to get rid of the dreaded "Unknown" players from farm rosters? Every team has a full and complete roster and complete lines yet the software still produces unknown players in the boxscore. Today I had an unknown farm player have three assists and go -40 for the game.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the "Full Farm" option at the league level or team level.

Only problem with that is when a team is in violation due to injury or whatever, the software prevents me from simulating the games that day until the problem is fixed. I don't want to have to go into every violating team manually and correct their lines so I can simulate the games that day.

that is what the unknown players are for !!
you cant have it both ways.
either you make sure the rosters are ok or you let the sim
insert unknown players.

your GM's are the ones that should be sending correct lineups

I disagree. Unknown players are stupid and unrealistic and should not exist. It gives the farm level zero credibility as a stand alone league. The software should double and triple shift real players when it has to fill holes, not insert an unknown player.

What I was saying was that even when every farm team has the correct amount of players at each position and complete lines, the software still inserts unknown players, which accumulate statistics away from the "real" players. When the lineups are not complete for whatever reason, the software stalls on simulation if Full Farm is enabled instead of double shifting etc the existing players like it should.

Stephen, your way of thinking is impossible to apply. For example, in a case of a farm team with 3 players without goalie, you want them to play 3 vs 5, 60 minutes in row without any goalie? What do you except the score to be at the end of the game? Another example, what do I do with a 16 players in the farm but no goalie, I don’t dress any? (Don’t tell me to “invent a goaler” because it’s exactly what I do when you have Unknown Goalie”).

The Full Farm option can be apply on Team Level. You can enable it on 28 teams on 30 that have enough players and enough spare to deal with the injury and so on.

OK Simon, so answer me this if you would. Forget about the software stalling on the simulation screen for a second...
If I:
1- enable full farm league wide which forces a complete lineup for every game, right?
2- force every team to have enough players on their farm teams including one at each position in case of injury

is that a 100% guarantee that unknown players will disappear from the boxscores?

the way I see it is ..
if you dont have enough farm players to play a full game
DO NOT activate the farm system.

if you want to have a Farm league, make sure every team has enough players
so that you can dissable unknown players or turn farm system OFF

Simon, thank you. That's good enough for me.

I do have enough players on every team to do it, but because I did not activate full farm, I was still getting unknown players in the boxscore. That's why I asked the question in the first place.
