Ejected goalies

Post by starfrit »

Got this one twice

5:31 of 1st period - Stopped by Anton Khudobin without a rebound.
5:31 of 1st period - Major / Game Misconduct Penalty to Anton Khudobin for Unsportsmanlike conduct.
5:31 of 1st period - Anton Khudobin is ejected from game.
5:31 of 1st period - Chad Johnson enters game.

12:06 of 3rd period - Stopped by Carter Hutton without a rebound.
12:06 of 3rd period - Major / Game Misconduct Penalty to Carter Hutton for Unsportsmanlike conduct.
12:06 of 3rd period - Carter Hutton is ejected from game.
12:06 of 3rd period - Allen York enters game.

Is this me or this doesn't make any sence at all. How can a goalie get an Unsportsmanlike conduct when stopping a puck ???

The STHS doesn't tell you what happen after the whistle.

What whistle ??? There was a rebound, not a play stoppage. I've never seen a play stopped after a goalie makes the save but doesn't freeze the puck. And even if there would have been a whistle, it doesn't happen when the goalie touches the puck, the ref waits 2 seconds before making the call.

Also, it is impossible for a goalie to stop a puck and do something as terrible to get a game miscunduct at the same time. I know what I'm talking abour, I'm a goalie!

That's happening again a lot too often and this is not realistic at all.

Last year a team in playoffs in my league got his goaltender ejected in OT and lost the game and the series because of that. Ejected goalies you saw this only on fighting in the NHL and even then it is not always the case. Simon you should remove this from you sim engines, it is as same usefull then if you putted in your sim engine that a fan throw a puck on the ice to stop the play.

come on man! ;)

I was just reading this thread the other day and said i don't remember the last time i saw this happen in my teams box scores (It may have happened in other teams).
But tonight i had 2 players get the boot for the same offense.

Keith Yandle (ARI) for Unsportsmanlike conduct (Major / Game Misconduct) at 16:30
Jonas Hiller (ANA) for Unsportsmanlike conduct (Major / Game Misconduct) at 8:48

Now i believe it take a lot in the NHL for a ref to throw you out of a game for being Unsportsmanlike. If the penalty included a spear or intent to injury then i would accept the game misconduct.
But for it being listed just as UNSPORTSMANLIKE i feel a game misconduct is to severe.
It should be a simple 2 minutes or a 10 minute misconduct.

What do you think ?

I vote to get rid of this non-sense. Goalies don't receive major/games misconduct penalties unless they fight. Since they don't fight in the STHS, get rid of it. Just keep the goalies in the game

In 2.2.3, I lower the chance for a goalie to receive a Game Misconduct for an Unsportsmanlike conduct.
