Line Matching

Post by landru22 »

I came over from Faceoff Hockey last year. STHS is a superior program but there is one thing I can't seem to figure out. How do you set your strategy for line matching? For example, if you are the home team and you want your checking line to play against the visitors top scoring line, how do you go about doing this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I am new to this program as well, but from what I have seen so far, I dont think you can do line matching. I could be wrong though.

Thanks for the reply. I thought after I posted that maybe it was as simple as Line 1 vs. Line 1, 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, and 4 vs. 4 but upon inspection of the play by play log I found that that wasn't the case. Maybe when Simon gets back from Italy he will have an answer.

Right now and even a V2, there is no way to do line matching. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply Simon. Is line matching in any future plans for the game?

As far as the game stands now, what is the criteria the computer coach uses to decide which line to put out in a given situation? Judging by the game logs, it doesn't appear that the coach simply rolls out line 1 to line 4 repeatedly. There must be something that the coach bases his line choice on.

Thanks!

The coach bases is decision on the fatigue of the player.
