Waivers aren't working
One of my GMs noticed today that several players were sent to the farm by one team and they should have had to pass through waivers, but didn't.
I have Waivers set to active and the exemption age is 24. Minimum 5 games played. I know one of the players in question is 27 with 74 games played. It's after the trade deadline, but that should make any difference...
Is there an option somewhere that I might be missing?

there is no waivers after the trade deadline. Normally you cant send a player to the farm after trade deadline, but you have a check box under league options to allow them. Maybe thats the case.

That seems strange to me that Waivers would be disabled after the trade deadline. Is that the case in the NHL? And players not being sent to the farm? I'm pretty sure I've seen NHL/AHL moves all season and into the playoffs... Maybe I've just never noticed though.

Waivers in the NHL are supposed to be effective until the end of the team's season. Information about waivers is hard to find, maybe my source is not reliable, I can't say I'm 100% sure.

Didnt' Cheechoo get called up during the post season without having to clear waivers?SICHLCommish wrote:That seems strange to me that Waivers would be disabled after the trade deadline. I'm not sure... but I guess my original question still stands - why is the simulator deactivating Waivers all by itself without telling me about it?

Ok, but it shouldn't be like that though. Is this fixed in ver. 2?

Re: Waivers aren't working
Here's the quote from http://www.nhlscap.com/waivers.htm
Q: How long is waivers applicable?
A: The waiver period starts from the 12th day before the start of the Regular Season [for 2007-08, the start of the Regular Season is October 3, 2007 – the games played in London do not count as the start of the season] and end on the day following the last day of a Club’s Playing Season [which means that for playoff teams, waivers may still be necessary while the team is playing; generally, this would apply only to re-entry waiver requests].
edit: Anyway, for now I've set the trade deadline for 100% of the schedule. GMs in the league know they can't make trades anyway.

P.S. There is no re-Entry Waiver in the STHS for now.

Re: Waivers aren't working
Regarding waivers in Version 1, is there a way to set a salary amount that players would have to clear waivers to be sent down? Like to keep teams from 'tanking' could we set a salary of $2,000,000 so that any player with a salary of $2,000,000 or more will have to clear waivers? I know this isn't like the NHL at all, but just curious to see if this CAN be done.
I know I can set the players salary in the farm to a maximum of $2,000,000 which will prevent a GM from sending down a player with $5,000,000 to minors, so I guess this COULD be a way around it, but it will cause some confusion for sure.
