Handedness
Handedness
It's my first year with STHS and I'm excited to used it at start of the NHL season.
I'm on the way of creating my rating set and I was a little bit surprise that player handedness it's not included in player's rating.
Handedness may have many impact in game play on a hockey game. D-man playing "wrong" side, lefty taking faceoffs on right side (vice-versa), winger taking faceoffs for center because of the place of the faceoffs, one-timer on PP, etc...
My input

Re: Handedness
That my friend is a + 2 from me...
but that suggestion is great and it does impact the game so it should be in the sim of course!

Re: Handedness
The STHS doesn't go in that much detail in the code. That why it's not in there.

Re: Handedness
well you should put that in one day if you work on a new engine or a full web interface version.
Re: Handedness
There are already enough ratings as it is... Another impossible rating to rate...

It's left or right....
Re: Handedness
with all the fightings going down in the NHL, I'm wondering what is the future of the Fighting rating in the STHS.
Seems to me that is a big waste of rating slot!
I would largely prefer an Handeness rating or and Awardness rating instead. Let the fighting be a random thing, which is almost is anyway!

Re: Handedness
Then that means that Patrick Kane would be just as likely to be in a fight as Ryan Reaves. I agree that handedness would be nice, but there's no way to quantify that as a rating.Foo wrote:with all the fightings going down in the NHL, I'm wondering what is the future of the Fighting rating in the STHS.

Re: Handedness
Just an up on that since we have the option to disable fighting now... what about the Fighting rating? You have at least to think about it too The Checking rating could do for those who want to keep fighting in the sim (I will and I don't mind that Tarasenko fights Crosby). But a new rating in replacements of fighting will be nice at least if you work on a new engine someday.

Foo, I'm not creating another simulation engine and I'm not add/removing rating.

Re: Handedness
ok so...
1) you'll not work on a new engine
2) you'll not improve current engines
3) you'll not add/remove ratings
4) you'll not switch to web 2.0
The STHS stops the improvements now? just bugs corrections and jersey numbers? Ok that is at least clear thank you. You still have a great product but competion will come, it's already here!
